Aftercare instructions
Firstly congratulations on getting your tattoo!
But how to take care of your tattoo?
Right after the appointment:
you will be wrapped with foil.
Leave this foil on for 3 hours.
After 3 hours you remove the foil and wash your hands with antibacterial soap.
Then wash your tattoo with just luke warm water. So no soap! This is just to remove all the residue of plasma, blood and ink.
Pat it dry with a paper towel or a clean cloth towel.
Let it air dry for 12 hours before applying any cream!
We need the tattoo to form a scab before applying anything on top. The tattoo creams are not for open wounds!

Moisterizing:
So 12 hours have gone by,
Again wash your hands with antibacterial soap before applying cream!
As a tip for applying cream;apply just tiny amount of cream dots, and take the time to slowly spread it over the tattoo.
This will feel sore the first 2 days but this will become better over time.
We don't want to smother the skin with a lot of cream. The cream is there to keep the scab a bit moisturised so it stays flexible during the healing process!

- Shower short and keep the tattooed part out of the water during showering.
Do this for the coming 2-3 weeks (until all scabs have shed) - Moisturize it twice a day (or 3 times if you see and feel the scabs are dry)
- Wash it with water mostly.
- Wash with a non parfum soap only to remove the cream build up.
Do this twice a week. - Do not scratch or pick the scabs!
- Do not sport the first 24 hours
- No sauna or swimming pools the first 3 weeks until all scabs are gone.
- No self tanners or sun exposure during the 4 weeks of healing.
Afterwards always use a high SPF to protect your tattoo. Your skin is still thin and needs time to recover.
How do I know it's healed?
Your skin takes roughly 2-4 weeks to heal the surface. After the scabs have shed your skin will still be a bit shiny. This means your skin is still very fragile and thin! It takes 3 to 6 months for your skin to be fully recovered.
So yes, you can do things like sauna and swimming after 4 weeks but be careful with the sun! Keep it out of the sun as much as you can during the 3-6 months healing!
